Quick Troubleshooting

Previously isn’t capturing my screen

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording
  2. Make sure Previously is checked/enabled
  3. Restart Previously

Search isn’t finding what I’m looking for

  • Try different keywords or phrases
  • Check if the app was in your exclusion list
  • Make sure the content was captured during your retention period
  • For semantic search: ensure you’ve enabled AI features

The app is using too much storage

  1. Open Previously Settings
  2. Reduce your retention period (7, 14, 30 days)
  3. Lower capture quality if needed
  4. Click “Clean Up” to remove old captures
